Total Time: 45 minutes

Intensity: Medium

For the Meat Sauce:

  • 1/2 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Cheese Mixture:

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tablespoon dried parsley)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For Assembly:

  • 4-5 no-boil lasagna noodles, cut to fit the air fryer basket
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

  1. Prepare the Meat Sauce:
    • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, Italian sausage, and finely chopped onion until the meat is browned and the onion is softened, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
    • Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
    • Stir in the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Cheese Mixture:
    • In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, chopped fresh parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Assemble the Lasagna:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
    • Spray a small, air fryer-safe baking dish or loaf pan with cooking spray.
    • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the dish.
    • Place a layer of lasagna noodles over the meat sauce, breaking them as needed to fit the dish.
    • Spread a layer of the cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by a layer of meat sauce.
    • Repeat the layers (noodles, cheese mixture, meat sauce) until all ingredients are used, ending with a layer of meat sauce.
    • Sprinkle the top with the additional 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Cook the Lasagna:
    • Place the assembled lasagna in the preheated air fryer.
    • Cook at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted and bubbly and the lasagna is heated through.
  5. Serve:
    • Carefully remove the lasagna from the air fryer and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
    • Garnish with chopped fresh basil or parsley.
    • Serve hot, either alone or with a side salad and garlic bread.

Note: This air fryer lasagna is a quick and convenient way to enjoy a classic comfort food without heating up your entire kitchen. The air fryer ensures the lasagna is perfectly cooked with a bubbly, cheesy top. Enjoy!
