balsamic soy roasted garlic

Preparation Time: 10 minutes

Cooking Time: 45-50 minutes

Total Time: 55-60 minutes

Intensity: Easy

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 heads of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Garlic:
    • Remove the outer layers of the garlic heads, leaving the skins of the individual cloves intact. Cut about 1/4 inch off the top of each head to expose the tops of the garlic cloves.
  3. Prepare Marinade:
    • In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, honey, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Prepare Garlic for Roasting:
    • Place the garlic heads, cut side up, in a baking dish or on a sheet of aluminum foil. Drizzle the balsamic soy mixture evenly over the garlic heads, making sure they are well-coated.
  5. Roast Garlic:
    • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil or, if using a sheet of foil, wrap the garlic heads loosely to form a packet.
    • Roast in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the garlic is tender and caramelized. The cloves should be soft and golden brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Remove the garlic from the oven and let it cool slightly. Squeeze the roasted garlic cloves out of their skins and serve them warm.
    • Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Spread the roasted garlic on crusty bread or toast for a delicious appetizer.
  • Add the roasted garlic to mashed potatoes, pasta dishes, or roasted vegetables for extra flavor.
  • Use the roasted garlic as a base for a flavorful garlic spread or dip.

Note: Balsamic soy roasted garlic is a versatile and flavorful addition to many dishes. The combination of balsamic vinegar and soy sauce adds a rich, savory depth to the naturally sweet and mellow roasted garlic. Enjoy this easy yet gourmet treat as a part of your favorite meals
