Ingredients
Beef Filling:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix (or homemade seasoning)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) water
Nacho Cheese Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (240ml) milk
- 1 1/2 cups (170g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup (60g) nacho cheese dip (optional, for extra flavor)
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Wrap Assembly:
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup (100g) shredded lettuce
- 1 cup (150g) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup (60g) sliced jalapeños (optional)
- 1/2 cup (60g) sliced black olives (optional)
- 1/2 cup (60g) sour cream (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Beef Filling:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent. Drain excess fat.
- Add the taco seasoning mix and water to the skillet. Stir to combine and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens. Set aside.
- Prepare Nacho Cheese Sauce:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Whisk in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, until the mixture is bubbling and slightly golden.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to whisk until the mixture is smooth and thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and nacho cheese dip, if using, until melted and smooth.
- Add paprika, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Assemble Wraps:
- Warm the flour tortillas in the microwave or on a skillet.
- Spread a generous amount of nacho cheese sauce in the center of each tortilla.
- Top with the seasoned beef mixture, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, and black olives, if using.
- Add a dollop of sour cream on top, if desired.
- Wrap:
- Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it up from the bottom to the top, securing all the fillings inside.
- Serve:
- Serve immediately, or warm the wraps in a skillet for a few minutes to make them crispy.
