Ingredients
- 4 bone-in pork chops (1-inch thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup (240ml) chicken broth
- 1/2 cup (120ml) dry white wine
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare Pork Chops:
- Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Sear the pork chops on both sides until they are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
- Cook Onions and Garlic:
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until they are softened and lightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Deglaze Pan:
- Pour in the chicken broth and white wine, stirring to deglaze the pan and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Dijon mustard, and dried thyme. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Combine and Bake:
- Return the seared pork chops to the skillet, spooning some of the sauce over them.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and tender.
- Serve:
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pork chops rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
